These test are rather simple and don't need any modifications apart
from adjusting the "from avocado_qemu" line. To ease debugging, make
the files executable and add a shebang line and Python '__main__'
handling, too, so that these tests can now be run by executing them
directly.

You can simply grep for '\.command(' and for 'def command(' to check
that everything is updated (command() in tests/docker/docker.py is
unrelated).

directory. It does so in "editable" mode, which means that changes to

This patch adds the "qemu" namespace package to the $build/tests/venv
directory. It does so in "editable" mode, which means that changes to
the source python directory will actively be reflected by the venv.

This patch also then removes any sys.path hacking from the avocado test
scripts directly. By doing this, the environment of where to find these
packages is managed entirely by the virtual environment and not by the
scripts themselves.

avocado_qemu.QemuUserTest which inherits from avocado_qemu.QemuBaseTest.

avocado_qemu.QemuUserTest which inherits from avocado_qemu.QemuBaseTest.
System-mode emulation tests are based on the avocado_qemu.Test class,
which also inherits avocado_qemu.QemuBaseTest. To avoid confusion,
rename it as avocado_qemu.QemuSystemTest.

conclusion was that the folders inside `tests` are related to the

In the discussion about renaming the `tests/acceptance` [1], the
conclusion was that the folders inside `tests` are related to the
framework running the tests and not directly related to the type of
the tests.

This changes the folder to `tests/avocado` and adjusts the MAKEFILE, the
CI related files and the documentation.

Currently, some tests contains target architecture information, in the
form of a "x86_64" tag. But that tag is not respected in the default
execution, that is, "make check-acceptance" doesn't do anything with
it.

That said, even the target architecture handling currently present in
the "avocado_qemu.Test" class is pretty limited. For instance, by
default, it chooses a target based on the host architecture.

Because the original implementation of the tags feature in Avocado did
not include any time of namespace or "key:val" mechanism, no tag has
relation to another tag. The new implementation of the tags feature
from version 67.0 onwards, allows "key:val" tags, and because of that,
a test can be classified with a tag in a given key. For instance, the
new proposed version of the "boot_linux_console.py" test, which
downloads and attempts to run a x86_64 kernel, is now tagged as:

:avocado: tags=arch:x86_64

This means that it can be filtered (out) when no x86_64 target is
available. At the same time, tests that don't have a "arch:" tag,
will not be filtered out.

Python based tests) in a manner that is as safe as possible to the
user. Different from plain Python unittest, it won't load or
execute test code on an operation such as:

$ avocado list tests/acceptance/

Before version 68.0, the logic implemented to identify INSTRUMENTED
tests would require either the ":avocado: enable" or ":avocado:
recursive" statement as a flag for tests that would not inherit
directly from "avocado.Test". This is not necessary anymore,
and because of that the boiler plate statements can now be removed.

Many of the current virtio-*-pci device types actually represent
3 different types of devices:
* virtio 1.0 non-transitional devices
* virtio 1.0 transitional devices
* virtio 0.9 ("legacy device" in virtio 1.0 terminology)

That would be just an annoyance if it didn't break our device/bus
compatibility QMP interfaces. With these multi-purpose device
types, there's no way to tell management software that
transitional devices and legacy devices require a Conventional
PCI bus.

The multi-purpose device types would also prevent us from telling
management software what's the PCI vendor/device ID for them,
because their PCI IDs change at runtime depending on the bus
where they were plugged.

This patch adds separate device types for each of those virtio
device flavors:

- virtio-*-pci: the existing multi-purpose device types
- Configurable using `disable-legacy` and `disable-modern`
properties
- Legacy driver support is automatically enabled/disabled
depending on the bus where it is plugged
- Supports Conventional PCI and PCI Express buses
(but Conventional PCI is incompatible with
disable-legacy=off)
- Changes PCI vendor/device IDs at runtime
- virtio-*-pci-transitional: virtio-1.0 device supporting legacy drivers
- Supports Conventional PCI buses only, because
it has a PIO BAR
- virtio-*-pci-non-transitional: modern-only
- Supports both Conventional PCI and PCI Express buses

The existing TYPE_* macros for these types will point to an
abstract base type, so existing casts in the code will keep
working for all variants.

A simple test script (tests/acceptance/virtio_version.py) is
included, to check if the new device types are equivalent to
using the `disable-legacy` and `disable-modern` options.
