Use the kernel's canonical $(ARCH) paths instead of the raw target triple for KVM selftests directories. KVM selftests are quite nearly the only place in the entire kernel that using the target triple for directories, tools/testing/selftests/drivers/s390x being the lone holdout.
Using the kernel's preferred nomenclature eliminates the minor, but annoying, friction of having to translate to KVM's selftests directories, e.g. for pattern matching, opening files, running selftests, etc.
Opportunsitically delete file comments that reference the full path of the file, as they are obviously prone to becoming stale, and serve no known purpose.

There are a few subtle incongruencies between the GIC definitions used by the kernel and selftests. Furthermore, the selftests header blends implementation detail (e.g. default priority) with the architectural definitions.
This is all rather annoying, since bulk imports of the kernel header is not possible. Move selftests-specific definitions out of the offending header and realign tests on the canonical definitions for things like sysregs. Finally, haul in a fresh copy of the gicv3 header to enable a forthcoming ITS selftest.

Do init_ucall() automatically during VM creation to kill two (three?) birds with one stone.
First, initializing ucall immediately after VM creations allows forcing aarch64's MMIO ucall address to immediately follow memslot0. This is still somewhat fragile as tests could clobber the MMIO address with a new memslot, but it's safe-ish since tests have to be conversative when accounting for memslot0. And this can be hardened in the future by creating a read-only memslot for the MMIO page (KVM ARM exits with MMIO if the guest writes to a read-only memslot). Add a TODO to document that selftests can and should use a memslot for the ucall MMIO (doing so requires yet more rework because tests assumes thay can use all memslots except memslot0).
Second, initializing ucall for all VMs prepares for making ucall initialization meaningful on all architectures. aarch64 is currently the only arch that needs to do any setup, but that will change in the future by switching to a pool-based implementation (instead of the current stack-based approach).
Lastly, defining the ucall MMIO address from common code will simplify switching all architectures (except s390) to a common MMIO-based ucall implementation (if there's ever sufficient motivation to do so).

Add TEST_REQUIRE() and __TEST_REQUIRE() to replace the myriad open coded instances of selftests exiting with KSFT_SKIP after printing an informational message. In addition to reducing the amount of boilerplate code in selftests, the UPPERCASE macro names make it easier to visually identify a test's requirements.
Convert usage that erroneously uses something other than print_skip() and/or "exits" with '0' or some other non-KSFT_SKIP value.
Intentionally drop a kvm_vm_free() in aarch64/debug-exceptions.c as part of the conversion. All memory and file descriptors are freed on process exit, so the explicit free is superfluous.

The arch_timer and vgic_irq kselftests assume that they can create a vgic-v3, using the library function vgic_v3_setup() which aborts with a test failure if it is not possible to do so. Since vgic-v3 can only be instantiated on systems where the host has GICv3 this leads to false positives on older systems where that is not the case.
Fix this by changing vgic_v3_setup() to return an error if the vgic can't be instantiated and have the callers skip if this happens. We could also exit flagging a skip in vgic_v3_setup() but this would prevent future test cases conditionally deciding which GIC to use or generally doing more complex output.

kvm_set_gsi_routing_irqchip_check(expect_failure=true) is used to check the error code returned by the kernel when trying to setup an invalid gsi routing table. The ioctl fails if "pin >= KVM_IRQCHIP_NUM_PINS", so kvm_set_gsi_routing_irqchip_check() should test the error only when "intid >= KVM_IRQCHIP_NUM_PINS+32". The issue is that the test check is "intid >= KVM_IRQCHIP_NUM_PINS", so for a case like "intid = KVM_IRQCHIP_NUM_PINS" the test wrongly assumes that the kernel will return an error. Fix this by using the right check.

The guest in vgic_irq gets its arguments in a struct. This struct used to fit nicely in a single register so vcpu_args_set() was able to pass it by value by setting x0 with it. Unfortunately, this args struct grew after some commits and some guest args became random (specically kvm_supports_irqfd).
Fix this by passing the guest args as a pointer (after allocating some guest memory for it).
