7Introduction

9The Lenovo WMI gamezone interface is broken up into multiple GUIDs,
10The primary "Gamezone" GUID provides advanced features such as fan
11profiles and overclocking. It is paired with multiple event GUIDs
12and data block GUIDs that provide context for the various methods.

19The Gamezone Data WMI interface provides platform-profile and fan curve
20settings for devices that fall under the "Gaming Series" of Lenovo devices.
21It uses a notifier chain to inform other Lenovo WMI interface drivers of the
22current platform profile when it changes.

27 - balanced-performance

33Some newer Lenovo "Gaming Series" laptops have an "Extreme Mode" profile
34enabled in their BIOS. For these devices, the performance platform profile
35corresponds to the BIOS Extreme Mode, while the balanced-performance
36platform profile corresponds to the BIOS Performance mode. For legacy
37devices, the performance platform profile will correspond with the BIOS
38Performance mode.

40For some newer devices the "Extreme Mode" profile is incomplete in the BIOS
41and setting it will cause undefined behavior. A BIOS bug quirk table is
42provided to ensure these devices cannot set "Extreme Mode" from the driver.

44Custom Profile

46The custom profile represents a hardware mode on Lenovo devices that enables
47user modifications to Package Power Tracking (PPT) and fan curve settings.
48When an attribute exposed by the Other Mode WMI interface is to be modified,
49the Gamezone driver must first be switched to the "custom" profile manually,
50or the setting will have no effect. If another profile is set from the list
51of supported profiles, the BIOS will override any user PPT settings when
52switching to that profile.

59The Gamezone Thermal Mode Event interface notifies the system when the platform
60profile has changed, either through the hardware event (Fn+Q for laptops or
